Description

Real-time Ethernet has various specifications.

Here, we will introduce a real-time Ethernet stack that can control three different protocols that are mainly used on three fieldbuses, that is, on industrial networks used in factories, etc.

We will introduce a real-time Ethernet stack with a sample application that can perform certification tests (conformance tests) on evaluation boards from multiple companies.

Basically, once an application is developed, it can be connected to EtherNet/IP, Profinet and EtherCAT without major changes.

First, I would like to connect a PLC with an industrial network (EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, PROFINET) using an evaluation board sold by a vendor.

I want to study real-time Ethernet itself.

It is possible to realize the actual operation at an affordable price.

RTE development Kit portfolio

  • Main architectures supported: R-IN (Renesas' platform for Industry) SoC (system-on-chip) and RX72M (Renesas). Other architectures can be supported but porting costs in addition to license is required.

Definition of RTE development kity

  • Development kit for Renesas R-IN engine SoC or RX for 4 protocols.
  • Protocols supported: EtherNet/IP (adapter), PROFINET IO (Device), EtherCAT (slave) and CC-Link IE TSN Class A (node)
  • Scope of delivery: Full sources project, documentation (PDF, Help), sample PLC Program, device description data. One year support, including support by e-mail and web conference.
  • License model is buyout, with right to produce up to 3000/year in perpetuiry (no royalty)
  • Option to extend the support after the second year for 30% of buyout fee, including fixes to the toolkit for support of latest conformace test tool
